Dear RWDSU Local 3 member:
We wanted to provide everyone with a contract negotiations update. Your Terms and Conditions of Employment subcommittee met with the Company on March 13th and 15th. Your Committee did an excellent job of presenting the members proposals that pertain to this subject, to the Company. The specific Union proposals addressed were numbers 1,17,18,19,21,22,23,32,33,34, 35,36,37,38,57,59,60,61,64,66,67,68, and 69. The Company made presentations on a number of their proposals as well, which are also posted for your review on our web site.
The meetings were very professional and the Company listened closely to what your Committee had to say regarding the employees concerns for the conditions and treatment of the Union members in the store. Your Committee was very united and strong in their presentations to the Company. While we have to emphasize that this is still very early in the process and we have a long way to go in these negotiations. We wanted to reassure and inform you on the status of negotiations thus far.
We cannot over emphasize the importance of everyone keeping up to date, of making sure the Local has your email and contact information, of attending membership meetings when called, of participating in demonstrations, in signing up on Facebook and checking "like", and the importance of participating in any other Union activities as planned, so that you can show your support for your Union during the coming days and weeks in order to obtain the best contract possible. The more united we are as a Union, the better we will be able to achieve our proposals during the negotiations. Remember we are "STRONGER TOGETHER".
We greatly appreciate everyone's continued support and if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to bring them up to your Union steward or Local officer.
