CIGNA Plans: The Union has won the right for continuation of the CIGNA plans to be offered to eligible Local 3 members (the Company was cancelling those plans). CIGNA Premier will continue at least to the end of the current collective bargaining agreement in 2017. CIGNA Select will remain for one year.
HIP: Local 3 has won the right for its members already enrolled in HIP to continue to participate in HIP at least to the end of the current collective bargaining agreement in 2017.
Reimbursement of CIGNA and HIP Deductibles: Local 3 has won the right for Local 3 members enrolled in a CIGNA plan or in HIP to be reimbursed by the Storeworkers Security Plan (SWSP) for a portion of their health costs applied towards the annual deductible under a CIGNA plan or the hospital deductible under the HIP plan. The reimbursement limit is the annual total deductible maximum for the CIGNA Premier plan in effect on the date(s) that the deductible is incurred.
The deductible reimbursements are retroactive to February 2014. Attach proper documentation to a completed SWSP deductible reimbursement claim form and submit it to the SWSP Office for processing.
New Health Plans for 2015: The Company is now offering two additional health plans that have higher deductibles but lower weekly premiums. Also being offered is a non-taxable Health Savings Account that you contribute to and that can be used to pay for health-related items and services.
Note: The health plan year is July through the following June. In other words, you are now being asked to sign up for July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016.
Enrollment is not automatic. You must re-enroll in a health plan and a dental plan each year. The cutoff to enroll this year is June 1, 2015 (except if you first become eligible after that date).
